Paul LeSage worked for 29 years at Tualatin Valley Fire Rescue (OR) as a Firefighter/Paramedic, served on the Technical Rescue Team, and was the Lead Flight Paramedic for several years at Life Flight Network in Portland, Oregon. He retired as the Assistant Chief of Operations in January 2010, and has over 34 years of experience in emergency services as a provider and executive. He spent teo years as the Interim Director at Washington County’s 911 Center, implementing a unique QI and Performance Program.
He is on faculty at Oregon Health Sciences University as a Clinical Assistant Professor, and currently works as an event and human factors analyst with companies such as Outcome Engenuity in Plan, Texas, SG-Collaborative Solutions, Emergency Services Consulting International, and others, where he provides event investigation and Just Culture implementation in high-consequence domains across the United States and Canada.
Paul also lectures nationally int eh emerging fields of Just Culture, Crew Resource Management, and High Reliability Event Analysis and Strategies. Paul has authored a popular book on Crew Resource Management in Fire & EMS, and was the founder of Informed Publishing, which created Fire, Nursing, and EMS Field Guides and mobile applications, which are used throughout the US and in many foreign countries.
